Home, Sweet Home
Aug. 9th, 2005 08:51 amWell, not exactly...but close.
Throughout the day yesterday, I moved things from the office I've been using downstairs back into my real office upstairs. I even carried printers and things up the stairs, which is probably part of the reason I was so totally worn out last night.
My office was trashed, which I already knew. It took some cleaning up.
I think the first batch of people who came in--from the Receiver's office--were the ones who trashed it. Then, since I was sitting downstairs in a different office, a less-than-uh-nice person came and took my calculator and flat screen monitor and things like they were up for grabs. So, I had to have a new monitor moved in and bring a calculater up from downstairs.
My supplies were gone, my pencil cup empty, my desk set trashed, pen and pencil set broken to pieces.
How can these people be professionals and trash an office like that?
The accounting department is worse than my office. They left trash on the floor, papers scattered everywhere, moved my conference table and chairs so they're spread out everywhere.
It won't matter if the company is liquidated, but if the company sells, it'll take some cleaning up.
However, I made good progress in here yesterday, brought some more supplies in today, and if it wasn't for the fact that a few things are still missing, things are almost as good as new.
I thought it would be strange being back up here after everything that's happened. It was always odd--I felt like an outsider--when I had to come up and get things while people were occupying these offices.
But--grin--it's like being home now, and somehow fitting that I should end up here, back where I started.
At least I'm back to doing accounting work until the end does come.
I feel much more at home up here. :)
