In. The. Zone.

I was there. Right there with my characters. Going through it with them. Feeling what they felt. Living and breathing their experience.

I was in the zone.

And, it was amazing. The most amazing writing day I've ever had. Ever. I think.

Yes, I've been in the zone before, but it was NOTHING like this. I am totally exhausted and my brain is drained. I hope sleep will replenish the words, though I don't know if I could ever hope for the glory of another day like this.

I will cherish each day I'm allowed to write, but this one, I'm going to treasure FOREVER.

Time to officially revise the expected total word count on Ancient Secrets again, cause I passed the 140,000 words today. Haven't decided whether or not I'll take more scenes out. Might leave in the one I was considering removing. Will decide on the rewrite.

I think I'll give myself some room to grow. I do still have some scenes to write and I actually prefer more words and then give myself the ability to cut extras out later than not having enough and having to write more later.

So, I shall declare my new goal to be 160,000 words. If I finish before then, I shall be happy. (Not that I'm not happy already.)

I'm not sure whether I was more excited or just flabbergasted that I actually had that many words inside me to come out at one time. Maybe that's what happens when you don't block them?

I was going, "OMG, where are all these words coming from???" Not that I complained, mind you.

I'm sure it won't happen again on this novel, but I like to hope that, some day, it'll happen again on another one. It was sooo very EXCITING.

It was amazing. I was right there with my characters and a part of the story. I couldn't believe all the words. :)

What was even cooler was that my sister read all 40-1/2 pages and said it kept her "turning the page" and that she was disappointed when it was over. :)

Cool! I love days like that, when it all clicks and works and at the end you feel drained in a good way, and then you look back on it and it's not just a pile of finger-barf, but REAL stuff and it's a sweet, sweet feeling... :)
