Making Progress

I wrote more today than yesterday, but I didn't feel really well, so I didn't write as much as I could have.

Maybe tomorrow.

Still, I'm pleased.

Worked on a couple of scenes that proved difficult because I hadn't really micro plotted them because, even though I knew the plot, I didn't have the tiny details in mind yet. But, they are necessary for the forward movement of the story. I had skipped over them, vowing to return to them, so today, I did. They must be finished before I can move on, complete the story, and declare the rough draft finished.

I'm getting ready to write a monster death. Probably tomorrow. Probably not graphic because I don't really want the reader to know what the monster is yet. However, when the body is discovered, we'll see what really happened to poor Jimmy.

Introduced a creature tonight that I use later in the novel. I've already written it there, where Lilli and Dennis find it and there's explanation of who and what it actually is there. I'm pleased with the introduction scene here and I think it sets up well for the fact that it's lost and looking for Berelonius as much as Berelonius is looking for it.

More words tomorrow. If I can get myself in gear and write more words this week, I can get this sucker done.

I like the...er...thing. Whatever it is. Very cute. Pity it doesn't have a horn; it could have inspired the legends of unicorns (the goaty ones, at least). :)

Oh, but it does! Remember the creature that Lilli and Dennis find further into the novel? This is his first appearance.

He's trying to find Berelonius and the crystal, just like Berelonius is looking for him. Only, at this point, he doesn't really realize there's an outside world and that Berelonius is gone.

I should probably mention the horn in the first description. Jimmy would probably be afraid of it even more once he notices the horn.
