Because I'm worried today, I'm resorting to posting whatever pops into my mind on LJ. I pity everyone on my FL. :)

But, I have a question for all of you writerly types.

For those of you who answer writing questions in your LJ or post your wonderful thoughts on writing for those of us who devour it eagerly...

Have you ever thought of writing your memoirs, or at least a book of inspiration for writers, using your LJ posts?

Actually......

I tried a couple of times but it always turns into fiction as it progresses. I can't seem to keep it too closely based on real life.

Huh. Honestly, no, not in the sense I think you mean. In a way, the mystery series I'm working on at the moment - told through the eyes of an ageing rock and roll musician - incorporates a lot of my life, something none of my earlier books did at all. But too many people I know, worked with and was involved with are still alive, and they all have lawyers, guns and money. So, no. Not as nonfiction.

Also, I've never been clear on the inspiration angle of it. Inspire, how? A writer writes; on days when there's nothing to say, we don't write. I'm not convinced I can inspire anyone to write a single word.

No. The writing exploration posts I make are simply that, I'm exploring items in writing as I discover them.

No. I have thought about publishing some kind of guide for undergraduate History of Art students though on the art of essay writing and so forth. Not that that's really relevant... :P

I have--not memoirs, except maybe memoirs about writing. Or at the very least, things like "How I come up with ideas" or "How I make time to write". That seemed a little pretentious at this stage in the game, though. Or maybe I'm just being too pessimistic again. :)
