Slowly, But Surely
Jul. 2nd, 2005 11:10 pmI'm working my way toward the end of the novel.
I got a slow start today and, because of that, I didn't think I was going to get much done. I had errands to run this morning and I was just exhausted from the week and spent a lot of the afternoon resting.
This evening, I started work on a scene near the beginning that I had skipped because I hadn't micro-plotted it yet and I wasn't sure the exact details of what was going to happen. But, part of making my way to the end is filling in these scenes I've skipped.
It started out sluggish, but once I worked my way into the scene, it blossomed into something that gave me even more insight into my story and perhaps also the trilogy that follows it. I know what I'm going to use in another scene or two that I haven't written yet and it also gives me a new scene to add at the beginning of the story that I think will be better than what I start with now.
I love it when a plot comes together. :)
Looking forward to writing tomorrow even though part of my day will be involved my with daughter's 18th birthday and taking her and some friends to the movies. They want me to go, too, but I don't think I can afford real luxuries yet. Starting with next week's paycheck, I'll have more breathing room, but rent and groceries were about all I could handle this week. (And, at least I COULD handle them!)

Almost there. I'm going to pass 125,000. That's obvious now. But, I think I'll be done in a couple of days and then can cut out the unnecessary words.
Wow.
And, for my progress on
