Woo-hoo!

I've got it!

(Don't worry, it's not contagious.)

I've got the solution to two problems in two different pieces of work.

I don't know where it came from. It pounced me suddenly (like kitty Malik pounces my feet sometimes) while I was writing on my screenplay this morning. I decided to delete a couple of scenes near the climax and write something more active, when it hit me. I knew how my wounded heroine was going to fight the big, bad monster for the first time, have her live, have him get away, and then have the HUGE battle at the end.

And, I realized that the device I'm using in the screenplay is also one that will solve a transition problem I was having in my NaNo project, Broken Mirrors. Even though I hadn't reached the spot where I need it yet, I was starting to stall out and worry that I wasn't going to be able to find a way to get from Point A (beginning and part of middle of novel) to Point B (part of middle and end of novel).

But, this device will solve BOTH problems and makes me a very happy camper.

Of course, now, I have to transition this into the rest of the screenplay, which means some changes in the next dozen scenes, but I can do that. I can do it when I get home tonight and still get the screenplay e-mailed out before I go to bed.

I hope.

I can do it.

Whew! What a relief!
