I think they should declare November the National Month of NaNo and give us the entire month off so we can write, write, WRITE!!!

How's everybody doing this first day of NaNo? (Sounds like the religious holiday for writers, doesn't it?)

We should have songs and poems about it. You know, like to the tune of "Twelve Days of Christmas"? Or, last night, I found myself making up NaNo words to "The Night Before Christmas", but I'm NOT going to share cause they were very lame. I was very tired and extremely worried about getting ANY words for NaNo this year.

I'm going to be the official cheerleader and wave pom-poms and encourage everybody, okay? Well, until work interfers and I forget all about NaNo, but for now, my boss is out of town and I hope everybody gets a really great start today.

I wish for you all many words for NaNo!

I''ve managed 1500 words of my thesis and no NaNo words thus far, but I don't expect to really start until after teaching this evening.

I wanted to stay up past midnight to officially write something, but I fell asleep around 11:30 a.m. I'm SO LAME!!!!! Did you hear about the guy who plans on doing 50K in TWO days?????? I tried to figure it out. At my best (counts on fingers) I can do 1K an hour. I'd still be 2K short without sleep for 48 hours.

I'm not participating in NaNo per se, but the latest stretch of the year does seem like the best time for me to start a novel--or at least I have the most oftentimes, anyway--and I'll probably start a new novel this month. The Navy Book I've been mentioning in my LJ. Just as soon as I flesh out some more details and start having some kind of idea about how it will end!

Actually, one of the people in my region posted a song, which apparently her writing buddy a couple years back made up. It is sung to the tune of "I Am the Very Model of a Modern Major-General" from Pirates of Penzance.
