It Was Late Last Night
Oct. 22nd, 2006 08:41 amEr, this morning.
I didn't go to bed until after midnight, so I didn't even think about making a progress post.
I didn't write yesterday.
Well, yes, I did.
But, I don't think it was like regular writing progress, though I'd have to go back and check to make sure.
Yesterday, I made HUGE strides of a different kind.
I got 54 pages of a 118 page screenplay edited/revised, which included deleting some scenes that didn't thrill me and adding new ones in their place that did. And, lots of polishing.
I plan to finish the editing/revising today. Actually, I MUST finish it today. I've got the opportunity to turn it in for two sets of notes over the next three weeks and the revised version must be submitted today.
No problem.
I like saying that cause I'm usually so far behind.
I also worked on novel edits for the parial I need to submit.
When I write my rough drafts, I use Times New Roman, and I knew that switching to Courier was going to be awful, but it was AWFUL.
Why?
Because it increased the pages so drastically that I might not be able to submit what I'd hoped to submit for the first 30+ pages. I don't know how much leeway there is, though I suspectd that I was supposed to submit in complete chapters.
Two chapters is less than 30 pages. Three chapters is now quite a bit more than 30...unless it edits down more as I'm giving it another pass.
I really wanted to be able to submit three chapters...which I could have done with Times New Roman. I believe it was about 38 pages, which would have fit the guidelines. There's a perfect cut-off for the submission at the end of Chapter 3.
I plan to work more on it today, too, just as soon as I'm done with screenplay, which I've already been working on this morning.
So, all in all, it was an EXTREMELY productive day and I'm not going to be upset about no regular writing.
These things are HUGELY important to me and I'm thrilled I was able to get so much done.
