Random Monday Morning Pleasures
Oct. 16th, 2006 05:45 amOne needs good things on Monday mornings...especially when one is facing another week of overtime at work.
So...good things Monday.
I've lost weight. Hooray! I think it's due to taking my lunch to work so I can read and edit. Also, eating breakfast at home (instead of picking up fast food) and taking a snack or two since I'm not supposed to go from 5:30 until 11:30 (lunchtime) without eating.
From this weight range, it'll be easier to get down to what I want to hit by the end of the year. If I can just find some time to walk, it'll really help things out.
Good thing #2. Ear is not at screaming pain level this morning. In fact, ear didn't hit that level much yesterday at all. Most pain I felt was dull pain, but still pain. So far this morning, I'm dealing with minor, I can ignore this, pain, though my ear is plugged to the point of not hearing much. Still, this is a VAST improvement over last week. I think I'm recovering. I'm pleased.
Good thing #3. After getting paid on Friday, I have vast quantities of GOOD food in the apartment, as well as the necessities of life. Kids all have lunches for today. I do too.
Good thing #4. I seem to be writing again. Not just writing again, but writing again with ENTHUSIASM. Now, we'll see how long that lasts after work today, but I have hope. Haven't had hope for a while. Hope is a good thing.
Good thing #5. The leaves have started to turn around here. FINALLY. Not many trees turn, but the ones that do are beautiful. We don't really have any yellows or golds in this area. But, we have lovely orange and blood red. Beautiful.
And, that's a LOT of good things for a Monday morning.
How about you folks? Anybody got anything good to share?
