Hmm...Do I Want to Change My Mind?

You know, I was thinking about a particular story I'd started--a novel, of course--and when I read through passages of it, I had the sudden urge to work on to again. To actually FINISH it this time.

I have such a better feel for the universe than I did when I started it. I have one of the three books leading up to it finished. The other two in various stages of being written, but I have a really good handle on the story I'm telling in that segment of the universe now.

My writing has also improved IMMENSELY. I started this novel several years ago and even if I kept what I'd written and edited it, I'd probably cut 3/4 out as extraneous words.

I have 185 pages written on it. I didn't look at the word count, but I can do the basic math.

Would you believe I'm considering scrapping it and starting all over?

I'm actually considering starting from scratch and writing IT during NaNoWriMo instead of the project I'd originally considered.

It calls to me, to something deep inside me. It's a part of the story I feel like I need to tell.

So, I guess I'll start plotting it, along with City of Fallen Stars and then decide which one is ready to be written when November 1 arrives.

Either way, I'll have something ready to write when NaNo rolls around. There always seems to be something to write :)

I know the feeling; there've been a couple NaNos (including this one) when I didn't know up until the last minute what I was going to work on.
