Complete a first draft of my current WIP.

That's about it. :)

I plan to finish my current novel, JOHNNY GRUESOME, and secure a limited edition hardcover release for it. I'm on the second draft now.

I plan to start a book on making 'no budget' horror films, which entails watching a lot of microbudget flicks so I can interview someother filmmakers.

And I intend to get a firm 'yay' or 'nay' from the various guys I've been speaking to about producing DEADLY RITES, the next film I'm going to direct. If I have to produce it myself I will, and that wil be enxt year's big project.

I also have to start a freelance copywriting biz, so I can pay some bills...

Finish the rough draft of Pax, and the rewrites of March.

Send shite out.

Not feel guilty about turning into a waddling blob.

To finish revising Pooka so I have something that can go out to beta readers, which means revising a chapter each week, plus making any adjustments my writers groups point out.

To keep up with my 2YN writing class, which means writing on that particular story 4 days a week, and doing a bit of Egyptology research. Rough drafts do that. Things sneak in and you find out you need to hit the books.

This also means I have to swear off writing short stories for awhile. Bummer. But if I'm working on novels, I'll need to focus on them and right now, the short stories take me off on totally different paths. Sigh.

Get all the packed boxes unpacked and distributed within the house as needed or trashed. Get my office set up so after 01/26/07 I can officially start my retirement as a fed and begin my life as an author. And I want to lose approximately 75 pounds of cute and cuddly fat from my body... so I don't have to make a stupid resolution to lose weight yet again... and not keep it! [g]

Cut out the distractions and get back to writing.

I think life and the Internet are making too much noise right now, and I can't hear my characters.

Finish second draft of Thimblerig *fingers crossed*
I've got a couple things I'm brainstorming/outlining on. I don't know when I want to start on any of them, just that I want them ready when Thimblerig is done.

Well, my job is being outsourced, so I'm hoping for a fat, juicy severance package that will enable me to stay home and write and paint for six months.

Whoa, we only have four more months?

Urk. Okay, well I hope to be able to finish the first draft I'm working on, and get Toil and Chaff polished and ready for submission. (Or get SOMETHING! polished and ready for submission instead of creating more first drafts.) And maybe finish the first draft of dirtboy.

Okay, maybe that's it.

Put back on the weight I lost from the flu and get healthy again. Everything else, including writing, is secondary, though I plan to have my current novel revised and to participate in this year's nano if well enough.

get back on track with my page a day thing, which hopefully will lead to the "zero" draft of this monstrosity being finished by the end of the year or at worst early next.

Finish another two novels. Get the website going with the t-shirts. Patent the board game. Publish second trilogy.

Get the hell out of gas station before it kills me...!

I've been doing a fair amount of Egyptology research lately. Most of my collected links are on my del.icio.us account under archaeology, if that's useful to you:

For myself it's finishing two more shorts; "Tripod Pest Control" and "Soul Flyer"; submitting a story to the "Star Trek: Strange New Worlds" anthology (yeah, I know, but I do have this old spec script for a Next Generation story lying around); and fnishing the three novellas=one novel stories for "Reunion Day", "Candle", and "Starbound!".

And I wouldn't mind delving into my spec script idea (contemporary romance) but I could use the wise and instructive advice of someone more experienced in that world than I am [hint, hint].

* Complete Mysterious Paris and start querying agents
* Continue to send "Blonde Bimbos on the Moon" to pro- and semi-pro markets until published
* Complete "I am Brave" and send to pro- and semi-pro markets until published
* Write a complete draft of a novel during nanowrimo (mostly likely either a complete rewrite of A Science Fiction Fantasy or a sequel to Mysterious Paris)

These are my goals.......
