Today, I Got the Gold Star

At work. In a manner of speaking.

There was a project that was supposed to take three hours. The Cost Accounting Manager was all stressed and upset about it.

I finished it in 30 minutes and he just kept telling me how amazing I was.

The truth?

I wasn't amazing. I just didn't complete the project in their old, antiquated method, so I finished it quickly.

Over the course of the day, three others popped up, and I completed those quickly, too.

The Controller, who is in South Carolina, at Corporate, needed these and they were e-mailed to him and he e-mailed back to thank me and tell me what a good job I did.

So, now, the clerk in the department and I are hoping that we'll be able to update the way things are done some so there's not so much overtime and things don't take so long to do.
