Totally Productive
Jun. 23rd, 2006 09:41 pmI've been more productive in the past few days than I have in the past few months.
I hope that means I'm getting back into the swing of things.
Did a full and complete edit on Atonement before sending it off to the manager today. From cover to cover.
I worked on it until after 11:00 last night and was up at 4:30 again this morning, hacking away.
Cut TWELVE PAGES out of the freaking screenplay. Woo-hoo! I was on a roll.
Tightened it up. Cut out any dialogue I thought was unnecessary. Shortened a few scenes. Improved transitions.
In all, I'm quite pleased with the results.
It is now a lean, mean 108 pages, which is perfect considering there are quite a few action scenes and special effects (which will take up time) involved.
In addition to sending him the screenplay, I also got to send loglines to query two additional ideas.
The screenplay, he will definitely read, but I'm not sure whether it's something that will interest him or not. However, I feel that it's my best writing sample at this point, so that's what I sent.
For me, productivity breeds productivity.
I sat down at break this afternoon and plotted out some word counts for the rest of the year, lined up projects I want to work on and projects I want to edit. Hope to take a closer look at my notes this weekend.
I do have to work for three hours in the morning and will probably get some rest in the afternoon.
After that, I hope to find even more productivity!
