Well, I decided to be brave. :)

I posted Spilt Milk, the story I just had rejected by Glimmer Train to both original_beta and to OWW, to see if I could get any opinions on it.

I'm putting on my thick skin armor. I figure it's going to be ripped to shreds. But, I hope I can learn and I hope I can make it all shiny before I send it out again.

Two people on my FL have actually read this before. icepicklobotomy read it a few years back on a writing list, when I first wrote it and it was longer and different, and offered helpful insights. bachsoprano read it back in January, and offered many helpful insights as I edited.

So...it's up both places. Now, I wait.

It was WONDERFUL. I don't know what I'd do without it. It's amazing the difference it makes in the week, and it's a lovely way to start the weekend.

I *should* go to the festival of books, but I just don't have it in me. Still recovering from NorWesCon.

I *should* be writing but I'm still ratcheting down from Clarion anxiety. The stories are in there, damn it. I think I need a routine... a garret... like yours!

There are lots of complains about the story itself. Some of them are very vehement. Comments about murder, suicide, the character being selfish, that type of thing.

The fact that it's not good and needs improvements doesn't bother me. I don't mind working on things and trying to learn. But, some of the other reactions startled me.
