Is it Time to Go Home Yet?

Cause I seriously need those vacation days. :)

Whew. Not a bad day. Just a strenuous day.

Lots to do here and then I had a flat tire at lunch. Luckily, I was in a parking lot.

It amazed me how many people (mostly guys) walked by, stopped to look, and then hurried on. Maybe they thought I was going to ask them to help me?

What's wrong with a woman changing a flat tire? Is that such a novelty?

One of the guys went in the bank, came back out, and said, "Hey, looks like you've just about got it."

Well, D'UH!

It's not like I'm helpless or something. :)

I know you are not helpless and I know you are perfectly capable of changing your own tire. That said, I doubt that would've happened 30 or 40 years ago. Is chilvary dead? What happened to helping our fellow man?

Okay, that really irritates me that all these guys just walked on by. It's not that you're helpless, but it's not gentlemanly to simply ignore a lady in distress. (I don't mean that to sound corny either)

Sorry that you had such a rough day. But now you have some time off!!! Make sure you enjoy it as you most definitely deserve it!!!

At my workplace, five people would have stopped and asked if I needed any help. Then if I was sure I didn't need any help. Then they would have stood there and watched me change the tire and offer suggestions and advice, while I screwed something up because I was freaked out about someone watching over my shoulder.

I think I'd prefer the reaction you got.
