Looking Forward to March
Mar. 1st, 2006 08:59 amI am sooo looking forward to March.
Happy March everyone!!!
March brings us Saint Patrick's Day.
March brings us Spring.
March brings me the 10th anniversary of leaving my husband!!! Hooray!!! (Yes, it IS something to celebrate. I have children that are alive and well and prospering because of that act.)
March also brings...
::drumroll::
More goals!!!
Are we surprised?
No. Janice does not thrive without goals.
So...
Goals for February:
Write 2,300 words per day, for a grand total of 71,300 for the month.
(IF I'm industrious, I'd like to make up for the words I missed in February, but I'm not setting that as a goal. It would just be nice.)
Finish edits on Wildfire, which includes adding an additional 30,000 words and doing another run-through edit.
Finish Pawns of Destiny.
Work on Xanali and/or possible prequel to Out of the Darkness.
Query three more agents.
Submit at least one critique/review for each of the groups I belong to.
Hmm. I think that's it.

I am a March hare
Date: 2006-03-01 11:09 pm (UTC)And yes, it is good that you left your husband if he was as malignant as I seem to read from you. It takes more courage to leave than to stay.
I agree with Dave_bara, you kick serious ass.

Date: 2006-03-02 06:07 am (UTC)And good luck with all of your March goals. :-)
Another thing March brings us is the super yummy Shamrock Shake at Mickey D's... the ONLY time during the year I go there. Just for the shakes, the rest of their food is drek. :-p

Date: 2006-03-02 03:27 pm (UTC)You're so kind. :)
I think people think I'm nuts (well, maybe I am), but it's just really this important to me to get all these stories put into words.
And, my kids are VERY supportive. I couldn't do this if they didn't help me with real-life chores and things.

I will honestly tell you that it was probably the most frightening thing I've EVER done. If not the most, then really close.
I will never, ever, as long as I live forget the desperation I felt, the fear that my old clunker of a car was going to crap out on me as it over-heated all the way to Vegas, and my certainty that he was going to catch me.
I did find out later that he attempted to stalk me, but never actually found me.
My oldest used to wake up at 2AM every morning crying, asking what we'd do if he found us.
Whew. Ask me if I'm glad that's all over. Yes. Yes, I am.
And, every time the money's tight or I wonder if I'm doing an okay job as both parents, I remember all that, and I know I did the right thing.
I agree with Dave_bara, you kick serious ass.
Oh, thank you. That means a lot...especially coming from you.

Date: 2006-03-02 03:34 pm (UTC)Well, no matter how rough things get, it's better than it was when I was stuck with him!

Date: 2006-03-02 03:38 pm (UTC)Oh, yeah, it feels GREAT! Especially since I've managed to get two kids graduated and another into high school...all amazingly unscathed by the ordeal, though my oldest still has some self-worth issues sometimes. We work on those. Lots.
This year, I'm going to celebrate. (Famous last words. The 15th usually comes and goes and I realize I missed a good chance to party.)
And good luck with all of your March goals. :-)
Thanks. I think I'll make more progress than I did in February if I can just keep real life from interferring and keep my head clear.
Just for the shakes, the rest of their food is drek. :-p
Yeah, I remember those as being pretty good. You're right. The food sucks.
Now, I'm going to have to buy some no sugar added mint ice cream and make my own shakes. Now that you mentioned it, it sounds good. :)
You doing anything special for St. Patrick's Day?

Date: 2006-03-02 03:40 pm (UTC)I love goals. They empower me. They give me vision. They give me hope that something will come of all this some day. :)
If I may...might I suggest...a little fun time for you? That's a good goal too, and you certainly deserve it!
You know, I honestly try sometimes. I usually run into one of two problems. Lack of money. Or lack of time.
I'm considering taking a couple of days off. The problem is that I want to save some vacation days for some conventions and workshops that are coming up.
