Hot Tea and Oatmeal
Feb. 16th, 2006 08:23 amJust kinda make things better.
Maybe because they're hot and warm and soothing, you know?
Today is filled with just as many frustrations as yesterday, but the combination of Native American hot herbal tea, some nice hot steel cut oatmeal, and being sick is helping me deal with it all.
Maybe the being sick is helping the most. I woke up during the night knowing it was coming. My throat and one ear were already bad.
This morning, it was worse, and my eyes gooey, so I guess I'm officially sick.
HOWEVER...
When I'm at this stage of sick, I don't care about all of life's little (or big) absurdities.
And, there have been plenty of them this morning, compliments of the usual company freaks. But, I'm just smiling and sipping my tea. Sick puts me off in my own little "gosh I wish I was home asleep" world.
However, there is one thing that kinda makes me want to scream.
Ever since SBC bought AT&T, they've done HORRIBLE things to what was once a great and wonderful ISP. I've had AT&T for, gee, maybe 10 years now. And, they've always had a stellar track record.
Heh. Not since SBC bought them. The latest bout of trouble started yesterday and is MUCH worse today.
Outlook could download e-mails at home. Here, on their webmail, I can't even access my e-mail. It's broken. Sometimes, I can't even get their homepage. Service bulletins say there are problems and they're working on them.
D'uh.
So, if you e-mail me and I don't answer, please don't be offended. I'll probably get my e-mails when I get home.
Par for the course.
But, hey, it's THURSDAY!!!! Hooray!
One more day to go to the weekend.
And, we might get rain on Saturday and Sunday! Woo-hoo!
Web weather sites say it's going to be...gasp...35 degrees, too. (Only at night, of course. This IS southern California, after all.)
Normally, that could mean flurries, which would be cool cause they wouldn't really stick. But, in soCal, if we have clouds, it's never as cold as they predict.
But, still...could be cool.
(And, NO...I don't want anybody's multiple inches of accumulation of snow. I just want to watch it come down and melt.)
Maybe because they're hot and warm and soothing, you know?
