What A Nice Surprise
Feb. 14th, 2006 07:04 pmI like Valentine's Day, but Valentine's Day means different things to me, I think, than it does to other people.
It used to be a nightmare, when I was married, but that's not really something I want to get into here.
For me, now, Valentine's Day is, of course, a day of love, but it's also a day of freedom, because I don't have to go through the kinds of things I did when I was married. It was one of the worse days every year of marriage, so now, it's one of the best days of being free.
Anyway, when I picked up my youngest son from play practice, and my daughter from volunteering there at the high school, she handed me half a dozen beautiful, white roses and told me they were from one of the teachers. He'd asked her to give them to me...just because he was nice.
And, I thought that was nice. To be thought of. Just because he was nice.
