And, I think it's from gritting my teeth, though waking up at 4:08 and going back to sleep until the alarm went off at 5:00 probably didn't help either. I'd have been better off getting up and writing...but I was still sooo tired.

I've been gritting teeth pretty steadily since returning to work last week and even moreso since my disaster last week. Once that, and a few issues here at work settle, I hope I'll stop.

I've also been clenching fists, which I haven't done in a long time. While that probably doesn't sound significant, I can note a definite decrease in tension in my body when I recognize the problem and MAKE myself unclench.

Got to work on the same with gritting teeth. This headache is KILLING me.

I wish I had a day off. I'm at the point in my novel where I could actually finish if I had an entire day off. Without one, it'll probably take me until the end of the week.

Back to work.

Have you tried chewing gum during the day to give your teeth a little cushion? If you get peppermint flavor it may help with any tummy upset you've got as a result of the constant headache. Half a stick of something like "Extra" peppermint gum. The flavor stays with "Extra" longer than Wrigley's.

I woke up at 4 too. Wonder if there was an earthquake? The joys of California living ;)

Hope you feel better....

Though it's not exactly the same problem, one of the things the doctor told me with my TMJ was to avoid chewing gum. It just clenches the muscles more.

Just my 2c.

I really hope you're doing and feeling better soon, Miss J. Maybe we need to get you a punching bag! I mean, if you're going to clench your fists, you might as well use them. And not in a way that is going to get you tossed in the pokey. ;-)
