Wow, I've been looking sooo forward to NaNoWriMo, and now that it starts tomorrow, I'm getting nervous.

I guess it's because I've spent so much time with this project over the past month or two. I've nurtured it and plotted it and fallen head over heels in love with it.

Now, I think I'm afraid that I can't do it justice.

It'll take an average of 4,167 per day to finish a 125,000 word novel in a 30 day month.

*Gulp*

I can do that. I think I can do that.

I just...sigh...I want beautiful words to go with the beautiful images in my head.

I'm not sure I can do that in 30 days. I know there's always editing and revising and I'm good with that. Heaven knows it'll just be a rough draft and need it anyway.

I'm sure it'll need a number of sweeps through before it really looks like anything.

But...sigh...I'd sure love some beautiful words to start out with.

I'm writing a very detailed novel, but what I am doing is just trying to get the first 50,000 words out -- it's a lot less pressure, and a lot more time to do it justice. This might be something you want to consider, especially if you think the rewrite might be hell...

My personal view is a lot less focused on the goal of "winning" NaNo.

If participating in NaNo pushes you into writing more work you're happy with, you win.

If someone else reads those words and enjoys the story, you win.

If somone likes them enough to pay you for them, you really win.

Everything else is unimportant, in the long run.

I have the utmost faith in you that you will not only finish the NaNoWriMo, but that you'll create something beautiful and fantastic.

Best of luck to you!!!!
