So Maybe I'll Get More Done Today

It's Friday!!!

WOO-HOO!!!!!

I've been semi-productive this morning, which pleases me. Maybe because I don't have to rush as much.

Oldest two don't have school today, so I don't have to run herd on getting them going to get out at a ridiculous time in order to get everyone where they're going and me to work.

Youngest has no school either, but has to go for all day play practice today and tomorrow. The play is next week and the drama teacher is getting antsy. :)

Or, maybe I'm just determined. Or have worked out some of the "I suck" problems, which haven't been quite as severe as they normally are.

I'm able to ignore them when I push, push, push, like I did to get my 50,000 words done. So, I guess I need to push again, to keep myself from thinking.

However, I'm pleased with the flow of what I wrote this morning. It needs a lot of work, but it still sets up well for the scene to follow. I can't complain.

I got 1,014 words done, so that puts me in a good position to make my goal for the day, which is 3,000 words. I'd like to hit 55,000 total today and then push for more words this weekend.

I like some ideas I came up with yesterday and the beginning of one scene I wrote. I think it has lots of potential to flow into the new ending, which isn't completely worked out yet. Maybe this weekend.

However, sadly, at this point, I have to leave for work.

What a Strange Drive Home

Streets were blocked. Freeways closed. Traffic was stopped.

(Keep in mind that I only work 10 minutes from home, so the fact that I couldn't get home was significant.)

Stopped at Smart & Final to pick up a few things and the checker told me there had been a bank robbery a couple of miles from where I live.

The robber had shot the guard in the leg and the head and when the police arrived and he was trapped, he stabbed himself in the stomach and died.

So...streets blocked off leading to the street the bank was on. (Street I live on...at the opposite end.) Freeway going that direction closed.

I had to get on the freeway going the OPPOSITE direction I wanted to go, head back to work, and come home the back way.

Whew!

I Have a Headache

Which probably means I should sleep since I've hit my word count goal for the day.

Broken Mirrors:

55,164 / 100,000 (55.2%)

I'd like to get this baby finished up and start on the next novel this month while the ideas are still fresh in my mind.

But, we'll see.
