Happy Monday Morning!!!

What were you folks up to over the weekend? Did everyone have a good one? What'd you do?

How many of you went to Writer's Weekend? Was it wonderful?

I'm on my way out the door, but decided to stop long enough for a post. I haven't had time to keep track of LJ much lately, but I hope things will settle down soon. I want to post about my new job. It might take up a little time at first...there's annual inventory and a software conversion going on. But, it's still not going to take up as much time as the horrible drive did. And, that's delightful.

I'm trying to catch up on my word counts for the month. Obviously, I got side-tracked by the screenplay I was revising to send out. But, it's gone now, so I'm trying to gear back up to get to work on a new project for the month of July.

It's going to be another attempt to start and finish a project in one month. I guess it's an even bigger goal than it sounds since I haven't been at my most productive the last three or four months.

But, it's a challenge. And, I think I'm up for a challenge. And, that's good. It means I'm on the mend, my life has some good housecleaning going on, and maybe I'm even over some bad stuff that happened with people I thought were my friends. And, you know what? It feels good to have put so much behind me.

The last day of my old job, I knew. That was the first day of a new life. But, it wasn't really a new life as much as it was getting the old me back.

So, that's what I'm working on. And, so far, so good. I can't complain. I'm more productive, and things are looking up.

Hope all is well with everyone on my FL. What are you folks up to? Any vacations? Any new writing projects? Anything exciting?

Have a GREAT day!

I had a coupon for a one week free trial to the Hollywood Creative Directory. It's a HUGELY helpful tool for screenwriters, even moreso now since they've been purchased and revamped.

I used to have an online subsciption when I was screenwriting actively and sent cold queries to a number of places I researched through HCD, with very good results.

So, I thought, it wouldn't hurt to have a one week free trial. The annual version is much more expensive now because it's been expanded.

Alas, when I tried to use the coupon on Saturday, their system told me the coupon had expired, even though my brochure told me it was good until 6/30.

I was going to let it drop, but decided to e-mail them and ask for help.

Boy was I surprised when they offered to set the week up for me from THEIR side of the computer. They were sooo nice and helpful and sure enough, I have my logon and password in hand already.

I am going to do sooooo much researching (mostly over the weekend) and find all kinds of great agents and production companies to query.

But, now...back to writing. I need to get in more words tonight.

Could someone please tell this godawful humidity to go away?

It was around 100 here today. That would have been bad enough, except that the humidity felt like it was close to that, too. I couldn't believe it. Felt like I was living in Nashville, again.

There were rumors of thunderstorms, but alas, they never happened.

I was broad-sided with a new idea today. I'm trying to fight it off, but the problem is that it fits into a hole that I really needed to fill, so...I don't know.
