Happy April Fool's Day!!!

Nope, no jokes from me today. (Though I was a pretty good prankster in my time.)

I'm going to be writing.

What're you folks up to?

Anybody got any good stories about April Fool's Jokes you'd like to share?

::bounces up and down::

I have some words today. I'm excited.

I've missed words. I've missed creating.

::sighs::

Words are happiness.

I'm glad March is over. I'd have to say it was one of the worst months ever. But, it's gone...and hopefully, quickly forgotten.

I did a really poor job on my goals for the month.

Goals for March:

Write 2,300 words per day, for a grand total of 71,300 for the month.

Reality:

I didn't get anywhere close. I ended up with 29,320 words for the month. No excuses. I just couldn't do it.

Finish edits on Wildfire, which includes adding an additional 30,000 words and doing another run-through edit.

Reality:

I did some edits on Wildfire. Wrote a new first chapter and reworked a lot of the second and third. Got distracted. Didn't finish.

Finish Pawns of Destiny.

Reality:

Nope. I worked on it some. Didn't finish it.

Work on Xanali and/or possible prequel to Out of the Darkness.

Reality:

I did do some work. Not lots, but some.

Query three more agents.

Reality:

I did not do this. I wasn't ready.

Submit at least one critique/review for each of the groups I belong to.

Reality:

I did not do this either. Did some critiques off lists/groups for people, though.

Submissions to Date:

Short Stories: 1

Haven't heard anything yet. It's been out almost 9 weeks.

Queries:

Novels: 2
Rejections: 1
No Response : 1

I'm sure the no response is a rejection, but I'll give it another month before I move it officially.

And...that's about it. March was a sucky month for goals. :)

With the changes in life, the new position, the driving distance to the new position, the emotional topsy-turvy lately, I'm going to try to get back into the swing of things and work my way back up to good momentum later in the year.

So, only one definite goal this month.

Goals for April:

Write Phantom Song from start to finish.

My first estimate of the word count I wanted to hit for April was 125,000. I'm not sure that Phantom Song will be that long. I think it's looking more like it might hit 100,000 words.

While I'd love to have the 125,000 words for April, I'm going to be happy if I can just finish Phantom Song.

Or, at least, I'm going to try. A lot of that depends on how much I can write on the weekends, because I think it'll be difficult to get many words during the week.

It's still light outside, but it's getting dark enough inside the apartment that I'm almost ready to turn on the lights.

Just think, this time tomorrow night, I won't have to.

You folks remember to set your clocks ahead. It's Daylight Savings Time again.

Uh...hmm...

This is the most stupid-looking Sci Fi original yet.

Maybe.

They have made some pretty stupid movies.

For those of you on the east coast, that have already seen this, how bad is this?

Before it's not today any more.

I should also think about sleeping. I'm getting pretty brain dead and have passed the point of productivity, I think.

Anyway...
