Well, I hit Career Builders this morning to see what kinds of jobs there were within 20 miles from my home.

I picked the best and e-mailed resumes/applied online.

14 jobs in all. 2 resumes bounced back. They were through an agency, which tells me the recruiter probably no longer works with them. Both resumes were addressed to the same recruiter.

That still leaves 12 possibilities. I think two of them were from 10 days ago, but most were posted within the past week.

All I can do now is wait to see what happens with those, send resumes to agencies, and watch Career Builders and Monster.com daily to see what else I can apply for.

I know it won't be an overnight solution. It could take months to get a job. So, for now, starting next Monday, I'll be enduring the commute from hell.

But, at least I'm trying.

Sent out two more resumes via e-mail.

I feel rather productive today.

At least I can feel like I'm making an effort to better my situation.

Hopefully, something will pop up soon. :)

So, that's a total of 16 out this morning, with 2 bounced back for bad e-mail. Maybe I can even get those 2 back out to a new person.

A nibble already. From one of the resumes I sent out this morning.

My daughter just called to tell me that a man called me at home in response to the resume/e-mail I sent. She passed along his info and I'm going to call him at lunch.

I know it could be nothing, but it's still cool to get interest!!!

No, I'm not going to do this all day.

I'm just excited cause I didn't figure I'd hear from anyone for days...or even weeks.

My daughter just called me again to tell me I have another nibble.

So, I have two people to call at lunch. Hooray!

WOO-HOO!

I've received three calls from recruiters interested in my resume. All three called my home, and two of the three e-mailed me. One of them actually looked my current employer's phone number up and called me here to ask me questions.

I have an interview with a recruiter on Wednesday morning. They have several opportunities, including the one I sent my resume for.

However, one of the recruiters is already sending me on an interview tomorrow afternoon!!!

It's fairly close to where I work now. It could be perfect!!!

I'm nervous. Please, please, please, can anyone spare some good thoughts???

I'm coloring my hair.

Hope it's going to be a good color for me.

Got it chopped off to a little longer than shoulder length today (lost about 6-7 inches off it) and layered. It makes it curl. :)

But, you know, some people just won't let a person be happy.

Hey, I have words two days in a row. That's good. An accomplishment...in spite of the fact that something happened tonight to try to shake the fact that I'd already settled one of the problems that's been troubling me.

Obviously, I'm not going to hit my monthly goal again this month. However, I might hit 50% of it. At this point, I think 50% would make me damn happy. :)
