To all of you wonderful, amazing folks who have supported me through the almost never-ending hell that has been my job for the past year. It wasn't always easy before then, but the really bad things started about a year ago and steadily progressed into the nightmarish realms.

Some days, it would have been easier to give up or sit and cry in a dark corner somewhere. But, we all must survive and I had kids to take care of, so that was never an option.

I appreciate all of your thoughts and concerns and hopes and good wishes...especially over the past six months, when the sh*t really hit the fan.

But, it's all over. And, I'd like to thank you for your hoorays and congratulations and good wishes just as much as the support. Because, when you have something to celebrate, it's always MUCH more fun to celebrate with all your friends and family.

Yesterday, I was filled with relief. I haven't done the dancing up and down and screaming YET. I still have one huge battle I'm fighting, with the local school district, over my 14 year-old's school transfer for this year...and school starts on Monday.

He's upset, I'm upset, and I'm completely incensed and outraged that our local school districts are allowed to care more for the money that having a pupil in their district brings in than for the welfare and well-being of said pupil. No wonder there's such a problem with the quality of education in our land.

I can, though, without a doubt, state that, even though this mentality may be widespread, there ARE districts out there whose first thoughts and concerns ARE for the students, their development (both academic and socially) and well-being.

Which, obviously, is why I'm trying to have my son transferred INTO one, now, isn't it? :)

As soon as I have that out of the way, you folks are going to hear me scream and yell and celebrate soooooo LOUD that you'll have to call the LJ cops to make me cut the racket.

There will also be many critiques and reviews all around. (I read three pieces yesterday and wanted to post reviews, but you can't believe what I endured at the hands of the local school district yesterday. Took away all enjoyment of FINALLY having a day off.)

And...and...at LONG last...I'll be able to get Ancient Secrets finished.

Then I'll celebrate for a week. With much rejoicing and great gifts and LOTS of hard work as I help rebuild the company I work for and start on the next novel.

Life is looking up. SOON, it's going to be great again!

Thank you for sharing that with me. :)

Hang in there, dear. I'm waiting to hear your hollering, so we'll all celebrate too. :-)

Good luck with the school thing. I'm sending you good energy!
