The World is Quiet
Aug. 21st, 2005 09:47 amExcept for my daughter's snoring and the quiet notes of birdsong outside.
There's a lovely morning breeze blowing through the window beside my desk.
Kitties have finally settled down after their all-night and early morning escapades. (I had to shut them out around 1:00 AM in order to sleep.)
My oldest son plays Secret of Evermore in silence in the living room. My other two kids are still asleep.
I'm cranking out words this morning with reckless abandon, which is nice. I think I have about 1,600 so far, but I hope that will grow to many more by the end of the day. Some weekends, I'm inspired. Some weekends, I don't accomplish much because I crash and burn from stress and from things that happened during the week. This weekend has threatened to be that way and, indeed, I did crash for quite a while yesterday afternoon, but I have a goal today, and I hope to meet it.
The only things really standing in my way are worry (since my paycheck still didn't come yesterday in the mail and I feel all deja vu after not being paid for three weeks in May) and weariness since I didn't sleep well last night.
But, combating it so far. Hope to have many words today. Hope to have a major accomplishment within the next few days.
Back to the novel...while everything is still quiet and lovely.
