What a Pleasant Day
Aug. 14th, 2005 10:22 pmI started out very industrious, but was kinda tired from all the running around yesterday, not getting to bed until after midnight, and kitties waking me up so many times.
In addition to writing, I ended up doing a lot of relaxing, watching movies on cable, taking a nap, and then playing some Mario 3 with my youngest son tonight. Hadn't played that in a long time and I was soooooo bad at it.
But, it was fun, and then I came back to my novel inspired. Strange how that works, but video games really get my creative juices flowing.
And, since it's late, of course I'm on a roll, but I made myself stop. Told myself it was a great place to pick up tomorrow where one character is trying to help his twin sister, who is injured, but he's being controlled by something and is in danger of destroying her instead of helping her. Such angst.
Anyway, this series of scenes went off in an unanticipated direction which, once again, added depth and a new dimension I hadn't previously considered. So, I'd have to say I'm quite pleased with my writing for the day.
One step closer to being finished, but I'm willing to be patient since these scenes are turning out well.
My oldest son starts back to college tomorrow. New semester. It's going to be a little difficult getting him there and picking him up with the hours I'm at work, but we'll work it out and just keep our fingers crossed that tomorrow goes smoothly.

Date: 2005-08-16 03:39 am (UTC)But, sometimes, we get kinda competitive and go at it with the two person games. Heh...
I just bought my youngest son an Xbox for his birthday and Halo 2, so I guess, next, we'll be shooting each other up on that. :)

Date: 2005-08-16 03:42 am (UTC)I love my X-Box. I prefer sports games... football, hockey, baseball. And I got an X-Box Live, so once I get the cable modem installed, I'm going to hook that bad boy up and play online. :-)

Date: 2005-08-16 03:48 am (UTC)My son wants X-Box Live. I told him if things work out at work, we'll get it in a couple of months.
The game I'm really looking forward to is for Game Cube. The new Legend of Zelda game due out in November. Link looks sooooo real in the screen shots I've seen. Oh, and Metroid Prime Hunters for my DS.

Date: 2005-08-16 02:39 pm (UTC)Speaking of realism, my youngest son likes to watch Tech TV for all the game reviews and news. I like it sometimes, too. Depends on the show.
Anyway, they were having a show for a while called Video Vixens. They were chosing the top female character from all recent video games. You cannot imagine all the categories they judged in, my friend.
Let me say that one of the most bizarre was the judging of how the girls jiggled when they jumped up and down. And, believe me, we're talking realistic here. It actually embarrassed my 14 year-old.
Oooh, thanks. I'd love to give it a try, if you don't mind. :)

Date: 2005-08-16 10:53 pm (UTC)And yeah... the realism of some of these games is... well... realistic... LOL... I can see why she'd be embarassed.
And just tell me where to send the game and I shall send it to ya!
