Amazing How Things Evolve

This weekend, I've spent most of my writing time working up to the key plot points that I have left to resolve my plot and finish my novel.

Well, much to my chagrin, these sections took on a life of their own and generated thousands of words. I kept going, "No! No! No! Too many words already!", but they continued to flow...and flow...and flow...

Until I realized tonight that they had not only added more depth and story to Ancient Secrets, but they've added an entire new thread to run through the Rosemont trilogy that follows and probably on further into the series as well. So much more depth, so much more story.

And, now, I understand the method to my madness and I know that I will either find a way to edit this book down into a manageable size that can be submitted. Or, I will split it...which I'm not so inclined to do.

Not going to stress it now. Just moving on to finish. Soon. I'm getting close now.

What brain? My head is just filled with unwritten stories. They never seem to go away...or get finished. :)

Thanks, Cat. Sometimes, I wonder where the words come from. Of course, as I told my sister in a comment to her comment on my post, I feel like my head is just filled with stories that never seem to get finished. Only words, words, and more words. :)

Sometimes, I can't help but stop and worry, though, how I'm going to get rid of enough words to make this sucker marketable. Sheesh!

Think of it this way: The Course of Heaven was me relearning how to write. It came to 150,000 words. Now it's me relearning how to line edit. :D
