We know the previous owner of the company is one of the bad guys...even though he always PRETENDED to be one of the good guys...and still has some people believing he is.
We know that the creditor that sued him and took the company into receivership is SUPPOSED to be one of the good guys...even though I've seen them do bad things...and right now, they are the righteous and wronged and still pretending to be one of the good guys.
The receiver is one of the good guys. I believe that. Even though he represents the creditor. He is a neutral party and must report to the court and is striving to do what's best for, not only the court, but trying to keep the employees from suffering more than we already have.
The potential new owners, who want to buy the company are the good guys. That is a fact. I have seen evidence of that every day since we've been back to work. The knights in shining armor on white horses. They treat us with respect, they try to minimize our suffering, they put us back to work. I KNOW they are the good guys.
And, yet, no matter how hard they try, people keep dumping on us.
First, the previous owner with his Chapter 11. Convoluting things. Keep us from being regular employees of the new owners. Keeping us from having benefits.
Now, the creditor, who is responsible for paying us until the sale goes through, has REFUSED to pay us for the 4th of July holiday. It might not sound like a big deal, but when you've gone without pay for so long and are still catching up, it IS a big deal.
The new owners have tried and tried and tried, but the receiver says the creditor refuses to pay us. One of the gentlemen here from the new owners was going to put it through anyway, and say, "oops", but the agency knows not to pay us.
We're all just pawns in this ping pong match between the creditor and the old owner. It's been going on, in one form or another, for an entire YEAR now. It has roots that go back even further.
And, because I'm Controller, I've been involved the entire time. I've seen things other people haven't seen. I have a headache THIS big today over the entire mess.
My mantra now is, "I just want it all to be over one way or the other", "I just want it all to be over one way or the other"...you get the idea.
No word yet.
