Well, Friday's the day we find out what happens with the old owner's Chapter 11.

I got a copy of the motion to put in a Trustee or keep the Receiver this afternoon, delivered FedEx. My name has been mentioned, with others, as having filed a declaration, but that's not why I got a copy of the motion.

The reason I got a copy is that he's going bankrupt on all the back pay and insurance deductions he owed all the employees, in addition to everything else. So, all of us that stand to lose got copies.

The actual hearing is on Friday at noon, I think.

Anyone who can spare any good energy that the best thing happens, I'd appreciate it. So many people have been hurt already, and stand to be hurt again if he gets control of the company back. :(

You'll most definitely be in my thoughts. Chin up.

I really hope he looses. And I really hope that, somehow, you all get your backpay too. They way he's treated you, he doesn't deserve to be running a company.

I really hope for your sake he doesn't get his hands on this company again.

But if the worst happens on Friday, pick up your stuff, walk out and don't look back. You have nothing to feel guilty about and you certainly don't owe him or the company anything at this point.

Good luck.

Thank you, Phoenix. :)

I hope it all works out. At this point, I'm afraid I'm going to be called into court to testify...and I don't want to go. :(

There's talk that the new people who want to buy the company (and who are lovely to work with) MIGHT pay us the back pay once they can bring us on full time.

I just want it all to be settled and over and get on with life, you know?

How are you? Is everything okay in your area, or were you affected by the bombing?

Thank you. :)

At this point, I am just ready for it to all be over with and settled and get on with my life.

Every time we think things are going to work out, there he is causing another problem.

The receiver thinks they have a good case against him, so my fingers are crossed that we have some good news tomorrow. :)

Thanks, Cat.

*I* sure think he's done more than enough. Now, there's talk of the insurance company coming back against everyone for their charges in April and May when the insurance invoices weren't paid by the company.

AND...the IRS and state of California can come back after us for payroll taxes the owner didn't pay if they can't get them from him. Even though they were already deducted from our paychecks!!! Isn't that outrageous???

And, tomorrow, I face having to go get some prescriptions refilled without insurance for the first time. $$$$$ Ouch!

Fine thanks :) Only affected in that I'm angry about it and sad for the pople who got hurt and the families of those who died. York's over 200 miles from London, everything was running as normal here.

fingers crossed that you do get your back pay. That would be a wonderful good will gesture if they did reimburse you. I still think it'd be nicer if evil guy was sued for everything he owes you and forced to pay up!

Well, look at it this way... if you *do* have to testify, you'll be taking an active part in determining the future of your company and whether or not that idiot gets control back. I know that you feel responsible for the people you work with to some extent and you'll definitely be taking a role in doing what's right by them.
