Well, looks like the government has backed out of the help they promised the company I work for.

So...maybe this week is the last.

Three paychecks behind.

I think that's enough.

I'm so sorry to hear that. Will there be unemployment or anything like that to help you, since you probably won't get back the money owed? I hope your job search is fruitful, and you find something you like that pays well very soon. Better yet, maybe a miracle will occur.

BTW, happy birthday--tomorrow, isn't it? What a gift. :hugs:

No, there won't be unemployment because the owner has intentionally NOT laid off people. Everyone is still officially employed. I hope I can find a job in this area. A long commute is not something I'd look forward to. And, you're right. Sometimes, miracles happen. :)

Oh, yes, it is. I'm old today. Thanks for the birthday wishes. :)

Yes, me too. But, at least this entire ridiculous situation will FINALLY be over. And, you know what? I'll be happy for that. :)

Yeah, three paychecks.

And, when I told the minority owner (who lives all the way on the other side of the country) that I didn't see how I could possibly work next week (without pay) when the receiver comes in, he goes, "But, you

Yeah, three paychecks.

And, when I told the minority owner (who lives all the way on the other side of the country) that I didn't see how I could possibly work next week (without pay) when the receiver comes in, he goes, "But, you <I?have</I> to be there. They'll want to talk to you."

Well, guess what, Frank? At this point, it's hard to care. Next week would make FOUR weeks without a paycheck and I'm staring rent in the face.

Why do these people not understand?

Because I'm sure they're still getting paid, or they have some cushy savings, stocks, etc. to tide them over. I doubt anyone--besides the owners--would blame you if you packed up your desk and left Friday.

Would you believe that most of the employees have been off now for a week and a half? (The owner's brother promised them they'd get paid for it and that their jobs were secure. Yeah, right.)

There are about seven of us that have come in every day...other than the owner and his brother. One of the people only comes in about half day, but still... We come in.

The people who have been off still think *I* need to stay to make sure THEY get paid and make sure THEY get their 401 K paperwork filled out so THEY can get THEIR money.

People only care about themselves. It's sad to watch.

Damned right it's hard to care! That's SO insensitive of him! *frowns in righteous rage*
