An Ewwwwwwww to Start the Day
May. 23rd, 2005 09:39 amOpened the door to the accounting office this morning and...
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!
There sat a 2-1/2 inch cockroach in the middle of the floor.
Talk about gross and disgusting. Last time we had one of those (two or three years ago), we couldn't even kill that sucker with a phone book. They must have armored shells or something!
Unlocked my office door. Everything was fine in here...of course, I have roach baits in every corner, on my desk behind my printer. I don't think they could live in here if they wanted to.
Went to put my diet Cokes in the fridge and there was a regular sized roach inside. Ick.
Went to the restroom and...well, let it suffice to say that they like the bathroom. Double ick.
I'll be glad when things are back to normal and the lady is here to empty trash and they spray for bugs and all that good stuff. Though this many bugs is was a bit more than normal. Maybe the heat is driving them inside or something.

Date: 2005-05-23 05:40 pm (UTC)The extra large ones are American Cockroaches...they are much harder to kill than the common kitchen (German Cockroach) variety. They tend to live in the foundations of a building and can only be held at bay by a monthly spraying by a reputable company. We had them in the townhouse we lived in in Richmond, VA. Horrible creatures.
You have my sympathies...

Date: 2005-05-24 01:22 pm (UTC)I only saw them twice, but when you get up in the middle of the night and turn on your living room light to find one of those suckers glaring back at you from the wall, it's enough to make a person scream!

Date: 2005-05-24 01:23 pm (UTC)Thankfully, I have NONE at home and I've lived in my apartment for almost 5 years now. First apartment where I haven't had at least a few.
Oh, yeah, cats are great for catching bugs. It's like some great and wonderful game for them, isn't it?
