Freaky Day!!!
May. 16th, 2005 08:00 pmWell, after I found out the shop folks had been sent home today for a week, I then found out it might be TWO WEEKS!!! Just...depends.
Great answer, huh?
But, even worse, the owner came in this afternoon and asked if my computer was one he had bought. I told him yes. And, my monitor, too.
He tells me that, depending on what happens on court tomorrow, they might send in a receiver. The receiver would take posession of office equipment, production equipment, and accounts receivable. That's the only thing the "lenders" have as collateral. A lot less than the amount of the loan and a lot less than the offer the owner made them to settle.
At this point, it's just a personal vendetta. They want to drive him out of business.
So, if they come, he's taking my computer home with him. My computer contains almost all the financial records for the company.
However, even if the receiver takes those things, once the government money comes in (whenever that may be), if we can hold on, we can replace everything.
So, it's still not completely over.
He asked if I had everything from work on my home computer. I have some, but not everything, but promised him I'd make a copy of my hard drive.
I stayed, after everyone left, making my copy. The others left early. Things were kinda eerie. I set the alarm and pulled the gate closed and locked it when I left.
He said that, if the receiver comes, it won't be until after 9:00 tomorrow morning. At that point, I can always either work from home or take my laptop in, since I'll need to use records there for some of my current project. However, I want to make sure the receiver is gone before I take in my own laptop
Of course, it could all just be over tomorrow. Who knows?
Guess I'll find out tomorrow for sure.
Hope I still have a job after tomorrow.

Date: 2005-05-17 04:27 am (UTC)I'm sorry. The offer to flee to Pahrump still stands, if things get too bad.
